The 3 Minute Desk Reset

Hey there TeamQuinn, today’s blog is going to be an active one. At the end of this I will link a video that you can follow along to or watch and review to take with you throughout the long work day. I assume most of you W’Him are reading this are probably sitting slouched over on your couch with your nose to the floor and phone in hand. Which unfortunately is a bad habit to always be in. This constant and habitual position is the cause for a lot of people’s pain nowadays. It is even affecting the younger generation. Can you imagine a kid in the 90’s complaining about neck or back pain? I definitely can’t and I grew up in the 90’s! With the invention of smartphones and everything becoming more and more online or in front of a screen the posture of children and adults have seen a massive change over the years and it’s not for the better. So I’m going to give you a three minute routine that can be done anywhere and all you need is your body. This routine will help loosen up achy neck, shoulder and back muscles, as well as strengthen some muscles to help keep your posture throughout the day. It’s fairly simple and can even be done at your desk. Not only will it help with pain, but it will also help you combat that mid day fatigue and help clear that pesky brain fog by getting you moving and circulating blood through the body. Afterwards you should feel refreshed, recharged and ready to take on the rest of the day.

Here’s the breakdown. Link below to watch the video.

  1. Lateral Neck Stretch- Hold for :15 each side
  2. Head Z Translations- Perform for :30
  3. Seated Cat/Cow- Perform for :30
  4. Shoulder External Rotation: Perform for :30
  5. Seated Figure 4 Stretch: Hold for :30 each side
